Booking the Introduction to Coaching Football Course as an RAF Learner

The Introduction to Coaching Football (I2CF) course replaced the old Level 1 in Coaching Football course during 2021. The new course is now booked and delivered centrally via the FA in an online format. This is a change for RAF learners who used to book directly through the RAF FA. Please see below instruction for booking onto the new course that will ensure you do not miss out on opportunities such as Standard Learning Credits.

1. If you do not have an FA Number (FAN) you will need to create one. This is where all future learning is stored as well as a logins across all FA sites whether it be using Whole Game System, England Football Learning or purchasing tickets. If you have previously played affiliated football, purchased England tickets or booked courses it is likely you already have a FAN please contact The RAF FA if you need help checking.

2. Prior to booking the I2CF you must first complete the EE Playmaker by England Football. The Playmaker is FREE and can be completed in your own time, taking around 6 hours. The Playmaker provides the foundation learning for the I2CF and the system will not let you book the I2CF without first completing the Playmaker.

3. If you would like to use your Standard Learning Credits to book the I2CF course please speak to your Education/ Learning section on station prior to booking the course to ensure you follow their processes and do not miss out on the funding support.

4. If you plan to use your Standard Learning Credits there is a 2 step process prior to booking the course directly with The FA, firstly you will need to check the I2CF course page and see what national courses still have places available. Secondly you will need to ensure that the course you are booking is on the RAF Sports Federation approved courses list you can view the full course list via MODNET or just the I2CF approved courses at the bottom of this page. If the course you would like to book is not listed on the approved course list please contact the RAF FA to request it is added.

5. If your chosen course has spaces and is listed on the RAF Sports Federation approved courses you can book the I2CF course directly via The FA, it costs £160 and also includes the Safeguarding Children Course and Introduction to First Aid in Football. The new course is delivered fully online via a combination of tutor led webinars and online platform learning. Dates for each webinar or your selected course are shown on the drop down list please ensure you can attend all 3 webinars prior to booking your course.

 When booking your course please ensure that you select the Royal Air Force FA as your County FA. This is crucial for demonstrating the reach and impact the RAF has on grassroots football across the country and it will also ensure that the RAF FA are able to support our new learners with CPD throughout the season.
