Senior Rep Team Managers Step Down

Warrant Officer Andy Kuchta and Sergeant Chris Hamilton announce their decision to step down from their roles as the senior men and senior women’s representative team managers.

Warrant Officer Kutcha departs as the men’s senior manager following three seasons at the helm where he brought his progressive football philosophy winning two Inter Service championship and being minutes away from a third. Over his many years involved in RAF Football, Kutcha has coached and managed in all three representative setups, bringing success wherever he has been.

Following two years as a coach with the women’s senior team, Sergeant Hamilton became team manager in 2022. Building on the success of his predecessors, Hamilton added a new dimension to the team’s playing style winning two Interservice Championships as team manager, to add to his two as a coach.

As both managers depart their roles the newly appointed Head of Representative Teams, Squadron Leader Scott Hyndman stated “I’m eternally grateful to both individuals for the dedication they have shown not only in these roles but also to the wider RAF Football Association. They have brought joy and success over the years to many people, and it has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege working with such good and talented people. I wish them all the very best in their future endeavours”.  

The Chairman of Royal Air Force Football Group Captain Jon Smith added “My thanks go to both Warrant Officer Kutcha and Sergeant Hamilton for everything they and their staff have given over the recent years. Such sacrifice and commitment not only epitomises the best of Royal Air Force Football, but the ethos of the Royal Air Force too. It is testament to their characters that they have engaged with the Association of their decisions early in the off season to enable us to identify their successors to best secure the future of Royal Air Force Football at the representative level. I hope both individuals know that there will always be a place for them in Royal Air Force Football, they are part of the family”.

The search for new management teams for both the senior men and women’s squad will commence immediately with further information regarding the application process for candidates being released in the week commencing 15 April.
