UK Armed Forces Head Coach Vacancy
A vacancy for the position of Head Coach for the UKAFF Men’s Team has become available and applications to fill the position are now being invited. The position plays a fundamental role in the development and delivery of UKAFF Men’s Football and TORs for the position are attached below. The aim is to select the Head Coach ahead of the Men’s Inter-Services competition, which starts on 11 Mar 20.
Eligibility. The minimum eligibility for submitting an application is an FA Level 2 coaching qualification. In addition the position requires strong administrative, communication and inter personal skills and a thorough knowledge of Service football through playing, coaching or managing.
Applications. Applications must include a short Personal Statement of no more than 250 words setting out why the candidate should be considered for the role. The application should also include a CV (of any length) setting out the individual’s experience and including relevant qualifications and positions. All Personal Statements and CVs will treated as OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE-PERSONAL in accordance with Defence policy and guidance, and the Data Protection Act. All correspondence relating to the application process will be destroyed appropriately after the process has been completed and the final selection made. Applications are to be received by COP 24 Feb 20 and no applications will be accepted after this date.
Sift and Short List. If required, the Personal Statements and CVs will be used to down-select to 3-4 applicants, who will be called forward for interview at a date to be advised. If required, the sift will take place as part of the UKAFF Board AGM on 25 Feb 20.
Interview. An interview panel comprising of the Chairman UKAFF, a Board Member from the Service football community and an Independent Member (IM) will be constituted. Interviews are likely to be held the week beginning 2 Mar 20 and details will be confirmed no later than 1700hrs on 25 Feb 20. Interviews can be held either face-to-face (most likely at RAF High Wycombe) or via VTC or by phone, if appropriate.
